Crick & Ember Press was born from memory, music, and the fire that keeps a story alive. Founded by writer and artist Lauren Lee Mann, it exists as a reclamation space—for voice, for place, for truth-telling in all its forms. Named for the crick—a word Delco kids never corrected to “creek”—and the ember-red strands in her daughter’s hair, this imprint is rooted in the places that shaped her: the tucked-away waters she visited as a child, especially the one behind her sister’s house, where stories first stirred. Crick & Ember publishes art that aches and burns and mends again—work steeped in beauty, grief, resilience, and emotional homecoming.
We believe in storytelling that breathes. In women who come home to themselves. And in stories that crack us open—so something brighter can grow.
